is a vibrant and highly effective nonprofit organization with an annual operating budget of more than $1 million that serves more than 9,000 individuals annually with education, food, employment, social, and health services – all intended to break the cycle
of poverty and improve the health of our community, one family at a time. Located in Akron, Ohio, in one of the community’s most disadvantaged areas, OPEN M leverages a community alliance of churches, businesses and more than 1,200 volunteers to offer programs

those in poverty to become economically self-sufficient through holistic employment assistance. • A Free Clinic, which is an established point of access to health care for the community’s working poor and uninsured. • A Food Program designed to alleviate hunger
in our community, distributing 7 to 9 tons of food annually to those in need. • Education programs that range from its Building Blocks pre-school program to Getting Ahead, which helps participants better understand the framework of poverty and individuals
in poverty.
