General Description:

 

The Creative Graphic Designer would assist the Marketing and Communications department with any layout and design projects including collateral, presentations, reports, web/social media graphics, emails, event signage, and advertisements. This role also manages our digital photography library, helps maintain NCF’s brand standards, and interacts with outside vendors to produce a project.

Reports to:  Creative Chief Officer

 

Management/Supervision: None

 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree (preferred) with a related design or art concentration
  • Minimum three (3) years of prior design experience in a professional environment preferred
  • Marketing or communications experience necessary
  • Background/education in layout and design
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong creative/artistic competencies
  • Experience/expertise in the following software/skills:
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Indesign
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Keynote
  • HTML/website management
  • Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites

 Duties & Responsibilities

 

Graphic Design

    • Work to ensure NCF’s brand and quality standards are adhered to throughout the       process
    • Meet with team members to discuss the objectives and requirements of each project
    • Accurately estimate the time required to complete the work 
    • Edit or refine existing designs or templates
    • Design new print or electronic communications
    • Update and refine Power Point decks, collateral, and other media for internal and       external use.
    • Prepare rough drafts of material based on an agreed brief
    • Proofread to produce accurate and high-quality work
    • Research and recommend fonts, photography, etc. for design pieces
    • Manage online photography/video library

 

 Strategic Thinking

    • Participate with other marketing and communications staff on brainstorming projects, publications, or other initiatives
    • Bring additional strategic value to conversations and projects, providing options and ideas for creativity, enhancement, and expansion
    • Propose new solutions and creative ideas surrounding any aspects of our work
