REQUIREMENTS 

  • Must embrace the mission of Thrive and agree with our Statement of Faith
  • Three years of experience in major gift solicitation with successful outcomes
  • Strong spiritual character and leadership abilities
  • Familiarity with the local philanthropic community
  • Responsive attitude and servant heart
  • Displays professionalism in relationships and appearance
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Fully thrives (pun intended) in a small team environment who like to have fun ;-)

 

Development Officer Responsibilities:

The Development Officer will be responsible for cultivating, nurturing and growing all Thrive donor portfolio relationships through:

  • Supporting the CEO and her donor relationships
  • Managing the Development Officer portfolio of the top dynamic 100+ relationships
  • Engaging new donors through Thrive’s development strategy
  • Introducing Planned and Non-Liquid Asset Giving opportunities to loyal partners
  • Analyzing the giving history of donors
  • Monitoring and reporting campaign(s) effectiveness (ROI)
  • Writing grant proposals
  • Fundraising events (Annual Ministry Event, Private Events, etc.)
  • Providing input into development communication efforts

 

EXPERIENCE / SKILL QUALIFICATIONS

Skilled communicator

  • Professional verbal, phone, and written communication
  • Compassionate listening skills
  • Ability to engage in meaningful conversation
  • Demonstrate care for others
  • Outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Motivates staff, board members and other volunteer engagement

Priority management & the ability to multi-task

  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Impeccable at documentation of donor interaction 
  • Self-starter and motivated by agreed-on timelines
  • Goal oriented

Business management

  • Professional level knowledge of CRM software
  • Comfortable with Cloud-based working environment
