Search for Director of Development

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development department of an organization dedicated to helping men, women and children break free from homelessness through the transforming grace of Jesus Christ. Union Gospel Mission of Salem is seeking a Director of Development who will provide leadership and supervision to the development department in planning, developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising and public relations/marketing strategy to support overall ministry objectives. Particular focus for this position will include major gift development and an anticipated capital campaign.

The Director of Development will be Christ-centered and agree with UGM of Salem’s Statement of Faith and Standards of Conduct. Successful candidates will have excellent management, administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills. He/she must also possess excellent written communication skills and the ability to speak in a public relations role, as well as proven success in major gift fundraising. A Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business or Marketing) or equivalent years of experience is required.  In addition, he/she will have a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience of at least 3 people and at least 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising/development.
