Works alongside of: VP Marketing & Development, CFO/VP Finance, HR & IT,
and Director, Int’l Child Development
JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY:
The Operations Coordinator is appointed by and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. The Coordinator synchronizes the planning actions of the VisionTrust Operations Team, which is composed on senior leaders, and which develops, shepherds, and implements
operational and strategic plans. The Coordinator has responsibility and authority for the development and coordination of the VisionTrust planning system and associated processes, by which national and international staff achieve the approved goals and objectives—short-,
mid-, and long-range.
Performance of the above responsibilities requires that the Operations Coordinator advise the CEO, other members of the Operations Team, and on occasion members of the Board of Directors about potential initiatives in operations, planning, policy, organization,
or training—and specifically on ways to identify, plan for, and achieve long-range goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Seek the Lord’s direction regarding assigned VisionTrust responsibilities and one’s personal life plan. Obtain input from trusted Christians, to include the CEO, other senior leaders, staff, pastor, and friends from selected faith-based non-profits or other
organizations which have similar values. When requested, assist colleagues when they invite assistance regarding their life plans.
- Adhere to and support the VisionTrust corporate culture which is characterized by seeking God’s kingdom first in every decision, acting in Biblical love and being responsive to needs.
- Work with other members of the VisionTrust Operations Team to ensure trusting relationships. Practice inclusion and demonstrate respect for their inputs into operational and strategic planning.
- Design and recommend the adoption of appropriate planning and execution systems and controls to achieve successful results.
- Coordinate the planning and execution of the strategic direction of VisionTrust, via its strategic plan and associated actions (operations, planning, policy, organization, and training). Keep the CEO, other senior leaders and—through the CEO—the Board informed
of the progress of VisionTrust regarding the achievement of or material deviations from short-, mid-, and long-range operational and strategic plans.
- Manage assigned business processes and service delivery in VisionTrust’s planning system in order to meet strategic goals and objectives.
- Lead and manage assigned research teams.
- Ensure the inclusion of financial and budget requirements when providing planning recommendations and products. Ensure transparency in VisionTrust operations in order to engender public trust in financial stewardship and planning, so as to provide the highest
level of service to donors, staff, global partners and children.
- If tasked, assist VisionTrust leaders to enhance its public image and reputation, and to strengthen and protect the VisionTrust brand

- Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to VisionTrust’s ministry.

- Manage multiple and rapidly changing priorities to meet the needs and expectations of the CEO, the Board, oneself, and others in the organization.

- Maintain highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Use a high degree of tact, diplomacy, discretion and professionalism in dealing with others, to include senior leaders, Board members, staff, national partners and international partners.
- Operate a computer, word processing and spreadsheet software and other standard office equipment.
- Organize, research and maintain complete and extensive office files.
- Communicate clearly, effectively and ethically in writing and orally.
- Establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with fellow VisionTrust leaders, international and national staff members, partners, and others who may be encountered in the course of work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Possess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This involves a consistent witness of our Lord, plus maintaining a courteous Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of the ministry. Refrain from any conduct that may bring the
ministry into question and faithfully uphold the ministry in prayer.
- Interact with co-laborers with Biblical love.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and evidence of excellent relationship-building and maintenance at all levels.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Have a successful track record of managing people and ministry, business, or government programs or organizations.
- Possess previous experience in executive and operational leadership, policy development, program development and leadership, Total Quality Management, training management, and assessment programs.
- Possess a minimum of a postgraduate degree, and a minimum of three years in senior executive positions.
- Possess excellent organizational skills.
- Have been responsible for large budgets.
- Demonstrate an ability to teach / coach / motivate others.
- Possess strong computer skills.
- Have an ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Demonstrate initiative—be a self-starter
- Be a team player
Preferred:
- Previous non-profit or international missions experience.
- Proven ability to work effectively with people at various levels (executive to staff) and within international cultures.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
