Position Description: Communications Manager
First Liberty Institute (FLI) is the largest legal organization in the nation dedicated exclusively to defending religious liberty for all Americans. As a nonprofit, FLI works with some of the nation’s top attorneys. We believe that true religious liberty means recognizing the fundamental right of all people—including all ages, races, genders, and faiths—to follow their consciences and to live according to their beliefs. FLI’s legal team has argued and won cases at every level, including at the Supreme Court of the United States.
FLI works across the nation to secure religious freedom in five major areas: schools, military, houses of worship, the marketplace, and the public square.
The mission of the communications team is to enhance and strengthen FLI’s position in national and local media as the premier legal expert on religious liberty to further FLI’s mission of defending religious liberty for all Americans. The communications team supports the legal team by promoting and publishing FLI legal cases and actions to influence positive outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
The Communications Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Media Relations in all aspects of the media team’s mission, including increasing FLI’s national media profile in markets throughout the United States and expanding public awareness of FLI’s mission, legal matters, and educational projects, including but not limited to:
