Director of Development and Operations
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Development and Operations will report to the Executive Director and have primary responsibility for fundraising development, administration, marketing/communications, human resources and finance. This position will work collaboratively
with the Executive Director. The position is full time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
Will be responsible for acquiring and developing relationships with current and prospective donors, and the community to ensure the on-going support of Teen Esteem. Focus is on intentionally cultivating relationships that invite people into deep and meaningful
partnership with Teen Esteem to help build sustainability for the organization. This will occur through the areas of donor development, community relations, marketing, grants, on-line strategies and fundraising and marketing events. Will also be responsible
for oversight of administrative duties, human resources and finance.
- Work closely with the Executive Director on development and events
- Oversee 2 primary and other secondary fundraising events each year
- Oversee marketing and communication needs
- Oversee administrative duties and human resources
- Strengthen existing donor relations and cultivate new champions
- Monitoring of monthly expenses to budget
- Oversee monthly program reporting
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance in partnership with the Executive Director
- Oversee insurance policies and contracts with service providers and outside vendors
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Passion for Teen Esteem’s Mission
- Strong understanding of the challenges youth face today and of the role education can play to help them make courageous and healthy choices
- Highest personal integrity, self-motivated and proactive
- High relational/emotional intelligence skills
- Values and can maintain confidentiality
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and minimum 4 years of development and management/administrative experience
- Sales experience helpful
- Non-profit experience preferred
- Strong relational, management, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work as a team member that builds trust and credibility within Teen Esteem and outside the organization
- Demonstrated leadership ability and the ability to multi-task, delegate responsibilities and effectively manage administration and staff
- Demonstrated computer skills; proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, WayCool, and other common software
- Flexible and ability to reprioritize
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Home office
- Flexible hours; evenings and weekends will be required at times
- Although this is a "work from home" position, we do require in-person meetings and local networking. Serious consideration will be given for candidates in the San Ramon Valley, Tri-Valley and surrounding areas.
