St. Brendan’s Church is a vibrant and growing community in a mostly working-class suburb of Providence. We serve the area of Riverside in East Providence, RI, and currently have approximately 2,000 families and 7,000 members. The applicant need not be Catholic but will be expected to uphold the premises of the Catholic traditions and live a lifestyle according the same.
We have an immediate opening for a Youth and Family Minister. The new addition to our faith community team will be a highly energetic and motivated individual who seeks to spread the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ to our younger members and their families, evangelizing our surrounding community, leading souls back to The Church and our Lord. Working with the pastor, staff and volunteers, specific duties will include weekly youth meeting with middle school and high school students, young adults and adult education, outreach to the neighborhood inviting neighbors and friends to our community while seeking way in which we may serve them in Christ’s name.
The successful candidate must be well versed in the bible, the Faith as well as contemporary tools for outreach: social media, computer applications, etc. The youth and family minister must be available when the members of our community are here, evenings and weekends as needed.
A strong understanding and ability to articulate and express the Faith is a must. Formal education and degree in theology is preferred but not necessary with the appropriate prior experience.
