CHURCH DEMOGRAPHICS

Brown Missionary Baptist church is located in Southaven, MS; which is part of the Memphis TN, Metropolitan area. Brown Baptist is a traditional, yet progressive church with a family cultured atmosphere. Brown’s vision is rooted in Exalting the Savior, Equipping the Saints, and Evangelizing the Sinner. Brown Baptist was established in 1882 and has a rich history and a heartfelt passion for touching lives and impacting the

community through participation and partnership. Brown is a multi-campus church currently with two locations with over 5400 people from Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi attending one of our three dynamic weekend worship services.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Minister of Worship and Creative Arts reports to the Senior Pastor and provides overall leadership, coordination and accountability for the ensembles and individuals that make up the Worship and the Arts ministry of the church that include: adult choirs, children’s and youth choirs, praise teams, instrumental ensembles, and drama ministry. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Maintains a vital personal relationship with Jesus Christ and encourages spiritual growth in others

  • Must be theologically grounded and biblically informed

  • Must have advanced degree in Music OR equivalent experience with emphasis in piano, organ, vocal, choral conducting, or Sacred Music 

  • Must read music fluently

  • Should be able to effectively teach vocal and

    instrumental music

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years successful leadership experience in a Worship and Arts ministry or its equivalent

  • Must possess strong managerial skills to include budget and personnel management along with excellent administrative skills

  • Should demonstrate excellent verbal, written and computer skills

  • Should be able to successfully pass background checks (criminal, drug, financial and sexual misconduct) 

     

    SALARY:

    Competitive salary, commensurate with experience, and benefits (health, paid vacation, etc.)

Brown Missionary Baptist Church was founded in 1882. We are located in Southaven, MS, which is part of the greater Memphis metropolitan area. We are a predominantly African American Church. Our membership is comprised of individuals from three states, including Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas.
