At Calvary Chapel Paris, we are seeking to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ through His Holy Spirit and with all that we are. This is an established church in a small city with a great need for the good news of Jesus Christ. We are looking for
someone who is a motivated leader with a servant’s heart and good organizational and people skills to team up with our Lead Pastor to help him accomplish the vision that God has given him to lead our church.
This position is for a unique person who is able to lead with good judgment, is
coachable, willing to serve others, and has
integrity. It is also a vocational position in which the individual must sense that God has called him to shepherd and oversee His church.
Our church is located in the small city of Paris, Texas, about 2 hours northeast of Dallas. Our community is a great place for families with children of all ages, and there are many opportunities to get engaged with the culture and connect with people in
many different social situations.
Position Overview:
Primarily responsible for supporting and implementing the vision and goals of the Lead Pastor and the overall purpose of Calvary Chapel Paris as stated in the church mission statement and by-laws.
The Administrative Pastor will be responsible for the daily business operations of the church and the weekly ministry operations. He will also oversee the church staff and make sure the building is in optimal condition for accomplishing our mission.
This position requires a unique blend of the heart of a servant, pastor, and leader, yet also with a heart to support the Lead Pastor.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Supports Lead Pastor by implementing strategies and goals as determined by the Lead Pastor and/or the Board of Directors (elders).
- Support the Lead Pastor through ministry effectiveness evaluation, discernment, decision making, planning and overall direction of church staff and their departmental ministries.
- Develops/oversees pastoral care program to ensure members have pastoral support for weddings, funerals, hospital/home visits, and personal counseling needs.
- Collaborates with ministry leaders and volunteer teams to ensure that weekly services and all church events are properly organized and equipped for successful accomplishment.
- Coordinates/delegates ministry responsibilities for church sanctioned events.
- Addresses management issues with staff and volunteers.
- Collaborates with community leaders regarding ministry support of community projects.
- Serves as after-hour pastoral support for church members as needed.
- Helps officiate funerals and weddings as needed.
- Creates an environment of continuous improvement by proactively soliciting feedback from key individuals – employees, volunteers and members – and developing improvement plans based on feedback.
- Works with Lead Pastor, Director's Board, and Ministry Leaders to develop annual budget.
- Ensures and oversees fiscal responsibility and adherence to departmental budgets.
- Promotes the development of infrastructure by all ministry areas that supports healthy, long-term growth of the church.
- Able to teach and fill in for Lead Pastor from time to time as necessary.
- Oversees the Men’s ministry.
- Serves as a contact and overseer for the LifeGroup leaders.
- Oversees and assists the Lead Pastor with the School of Discipleship and Ministry.
- Performs other duties as requested by the Board of Directors and/or Lead Pastor.
Job Requirements:
- Overall, a man of godly character and pursuing godly character (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to have tough conversations with people and to follow through with them
- 7-10 years of related experience in a church setting
- Experience managing employees and volunteers
- Flexibility- willing and able to adjust plans as new direction is given
- Biblical counseling seen as a plus
- Basic understanding of QuickBooks and how to read reports
- Proficient with Social Media. Any technical skills with graphic art and/or media presentation are seen as a plus.
Educational Requirement:
- Theological degree from accredited school, or a degree in business administration or related field, or a Calvary Chapel Bible College degree.
Spiritual Requirement:
- Calling to pastoral ministry

You must also be subject to a criminal background test.
