Job Description:

The Word Is Out (TWIO) ministry equips pastors in developing countries around the world with the skills to interpret the Christian Holy Scriptures accurately, respectfully, and effectively in conjunction with the Inductive Biblical Studies (IBS) method.  These pastors, in turn, pass this skill along to their colleagues in their home countries advancing The Word through the IBS method of study.  This vital ministry is seeking a Director of Annual Fund Development (AFD) to coordinate all fundraising activities and work directly with the President in advancing TWIO’s mission worldwide.  The AFD Director will design and implement new giving initiatives to create long-term, sustainable revenue for the organization. Relocation is not required.

 

The AFD Director will be responsible for the following:

  1. Coordinating, developing, and updating fundraising marketing tools.
  2. Establishing relationships with potential donor groups and prioritizing TWIO outreach.
  3. Creating individual and major donor gift giving initiatives.
  4. Supporting the President’s major gifts portfolio by coordinating speaking engagements, monitoring donor activity, and implementing donor care initiatives and follow up.
  5. Conducting donor prospecting activities.
  6. Establishing communication and action plan for existing and prospective donors.
  7. Preparing annual fundraising goals and making recommendations for overall fundraising strategy and tactics.
  8. Preparing and disseminating reports for the Board to track activities.

The AFD Director will have the following minimum skills and experience:

  1. 3+ years relevant experience working with nonprofit annual fund operations.
  2. Enthusiastic and engaging interpersonal and communication skills.
  3. Technical ability in researching trends and preparing analysis reports.
  4. Excellent marketing instincts and attention to detail.
  5. Ability to organize others and capacity to be proactive, prioritize duties, and work independently.
  6. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, social media management, and similar software platforms.
