Job Description:

Salem Media Group in Portland, KFIS, KPDQ AM/FM, KRYP, & KDZR, is looking for a full-time employee to split their time between the Promotions department and the Engineering department.

 

The ideal candidate must project a positive and fun attitude, must be a professional and a team player, be detail-oriented, Self-motivated and must have a passion for marketing, promotions and/or radio. Also demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with good problem solving skills, commit to a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekend and holidays. 

 

Radio experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communications skills with word, excel, power point and publisher. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Must be able to lift up to 80lbs.

 

The Promotions responsibilities include:
Assisting with setup and tear down of station events and appearances, interacting with station account executives, listeners and on-air personalities, maintaining promotional equipment, driving station vehicles, helping with the execution of station events, contests and promotions.

 

Engineering responsibilities include:
This person will be expected to assist office staff, setup computers, share in on-call duties, help maintain broadcast studios, and help maintain several remote tower locations. The applicant should be willing to learn and develop their skills with audio and RF troubleshooting, FCC regulations, studio automation, audio routing systems, transmitter remote controls, etc. The work will include working inside an office building, and outside at transmitter sites, high RF areas, and all weather conditions. Four years of experience with computer troubleshooting in a professional setting. Two years of experience in broadcast, RF, or related audio engineering industries is preferred.

Must be able to work on tasks and projects both independently and/or under the supervision of Chief Engineer. Candidate must understand that there will be occasional nights, overnights, weekends, and other odd-timed responsibilities. Employee will be required to climb ladders/scaffolding as needed depending on the project(s) at hand. Familiarity with computers and the related troubleshooting process.
