Executive Director - Youth Encouragement Services (YES)

 

Youth Encouragement Services (YES) seeks an energetic, engaged, and visionary Executive Director. YES is a nonprofit 501c3 organization formed in 1956. Originally called “Youth Hobby Shop”, YES was founded by Judge Sam Davis Tatum, a long time Nashville juvenile court judge, and a group of visionary businessmen. Their purpose was to prevent juvenile delinquency by providing an alternative to the streets for inner-city children. The mission of Youth Encouragement Services (YES) is to enrich the lives of children in Inner City Nashville, helping them to develop academically, physically, spiritually and socially.

 

Successful candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) from an accredited university in social service, divinity, business, communications, or a relevant field. A minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience in strategic planning, program, and budget management is critical.  Direct experience in or regular exposure to a faith-based, non-profit, youth-focused organization is a must. Candidates should have a strong background in fundraising, financial management, communications, community relations, and strategic planning.
