Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Accountant empowers CRISTA to meet its mission by supplying great accounting and finance support and excellent customer service primarily to internal customers. Work with appropriate individuals to ensure monthly financial statements are both timely and accurate. Support and manage relationships with Corporate Resource departments. Prepare journal entries, reconciliations and audit schedules as assigned and assist in the budget process as needed. Assist in ministry research, complete special projects and prepare various other reports as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

General Ledger: Prepare and post necessary journal entries for assigned areas. Review assigned sections of the monthly financial statements for accuracy, clarity and trends. Prepare GL account reconciliations as assigned, including bank and fixed asset reconciliations. 

Accounting Department Support: Propose to supervisor or the Assistant Controller improvements and modifications to the management and reporting systems of CRISTA. Provide accounting support to Accounting department, primarily to the Finance Operations team. Provide back-up duties for other Accounting personnel as assigned.

Fixed Assets: Responsible for the accurate and timely tracking of fixed assets and construction projects for the organization.  Includes working with ministries as well as capital committee regarding proper accounting treatment and recording of assets.  

Ministry Support: Cultivate and manage healthy working relationships with CRISTA staff. Provide excellent customer service to internal customers. Work with staff to ensure an efficient and effective exchange of financial data.

Annual and other periodic filings: Responsible for timely and accurate filings including, but not limited to ECFA, business license renewals and state annual reports.

Personal Property: Assist timely and accurate payment of property taxes.

Work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers and customers.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

CRISTA Ministries Statement of Faith

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
