Position Summary:

The Human Resources Director is responsible for directing and providing strategic guidance for all HR functions to include compensation, benefits administration, staffing, workforce planning, talent management, employee/leadership development, performance management and employee relations, providing support to both domestic and international staff.    Incumbent is a member of the Leadership Team, operates as an advisor on complex matters and provides input to the overall strategy and direction of the ministry.  The Human Resources Director serves as an advocate and liaison for employees, managers and leaders to resolve Human Resources challenges. The incumbent must be adept at managing multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential and hands-on involvement in day-to-day Human Resources functions are required.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience with directing/managing the HR functions of performance management, staffing, employee relations and corrective action, compensation management, and benefits plan design/administration
  • Minimum 4 years of senior leadership HR experience with developing HR strategy 
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and influencing skills (verbal and written); demonstrated ability to develop relationships and influence at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to daily prioritize and flex in accordance with ministry business needs
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
  • Experience with assuring legal compliance with OSHA, FLSA and other HR regulations
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • International HR experience preferred 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage and continuously improve performance management process
  • Manage staffing process; generate position profiles & postings, strategically advertise to maximize results at minimal cost, screen qualified applicants, design and implement effective interview process, select and hire highly qualified candidates in a minimum time-frame
  • Develop and direct HR financial strategies by forecasting staffing needs, managing annual merit planning and conducting annual market compensation review
  • Create and direct organizational strategy for workforce planning
  • Effectively manage compensation program assuring that positions are properly aligned within Water Mission’s compensation structure and competitively aligned with the recruiting markets
  • Design and administer a competitive benefits program; revising, adjusting and updating annually according to ministry needs and market fluctuations.  Serve as a resource for employees on all insurance benefit plans
  • Administer 403(b) employee savings and investment plan for maximum growth benefit
  • Proactively and efficiently resolve employee relations issues.  Administer the Best Christian Workplace Institute employee engagement survey and support leadership in appropriate, effective responses to support continuous improvement
  • Manage and leverage use of Human Resources module of NetSuite ERP.  Expand and continuously improve use of system by working collaboratively with Finance division and Sr. Leadership
