About Thunder Bay

People tend to see TBay as the middle of nowhere and that’s what makes it such an amazing place to live and work and raise a family.  We are in the heart of Northwestern Ontario and have all the amenities of much larger cities.  The city slogan “Superior by Nature” is a reality - close proximity to everything (no commutes) - short drive to many lakes and wildlife areas.  Enjoying the outdoors is a big part of the Thunder Bay culture (hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, a world class marina). We also have a big city culture & entertainment scene – an auditorium visited by big-name artists of every sort as a preferred venue, a Blues Fest on the top circuit, an award-winning historical park, a professional symphony, professional theatre, 4 film festivals and numerous quality restaurants of every sort.  Add a lower cost of living (housing) and we have the formula for a balanced lifestyle.
