Located in Valparaiso, Indiana, roughly 33,000 people. Heartland is a
church, affiliated with the Assemblies of God and ?recently celebrated its 69th year of being in the city, but has been at its current location for over 22 years. It would not be considered a “city” church, but more of a community church, which means we don’t pull from one geographical location, but from all over Valparaiso and its surrounding areas. Heartland is a multi-site church with currently 2 locations, with a 3rd one prayerfully being planted in 2018. At both campuses, worship is lead live and the message is live at the main campus and simulcasted at the others. Our mission is to Touch the Heart of God, Heal the Heart of man, and Reach the Heart of the world.
About our Pastor
Dr. Phil Willingham has over roughly 40 years of experience in ministry and along with his wife, they lead our local congregation. He and his wife have just celebrated their 17th anniversary as lead pastors at Heartland. When they first moved to Valparaiso, the church had only 50 members. Over the past 17 years, we have seen God do amazing things through the people of the church and have watched Heartland grow to what is now; a place that has 1200 members that call Heartland home. He and his wife have been married for 41 years, have 3 kids, and 6 grandsons. He travels on occasion, and is the author of a book entitled, “The Most Powerful Voice”, but Heartland is by far his number one ministry passion.
About the Position
We are currently looking for a worship pastor to join our staff at Heartland. This candidate needs to have skills in developing other people. As stated before, Heartland is a multi-site campus, that also has multiple services for our Sunday morning worship times. This person would need to be able to lead some, but even more importantly, be able to train and develop other leaders as well. They would not be necessarily responsible for leading the other campuses, but would be responsible for helping the culture and DNA of the other campuses match each other. Stylistically we are looking for someone who can do a good “blend” of all types of music, (with somewhat of a gospel emphasis). Pay packages would include, car/office expenses, housing allowance, and salary, and would be base upon skill and experience.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Plan and execute an authentic worship environment for all services and events.
- Provide healthy leadership for a vibrant worship team
- Recruiting & training musicians & vocalists to serve in worship ministry
- Assist with special events planning.
Qualifications:
Must have an apparent, authentic relationship with Christ.
Worship leader must be knowledgable in leading from or teaching how to lead from keyboard.
Must have a heart and skill set to be able to equip and train other musicians and to multiply themselves into other leaders for worship
Proficient in Planning Center, Pro Presenter, and powerpoint systems
Ability to create a vibrant relational community culture.
