Producer - Pittsburgh, PA

Salem Media Group in Pittsburgh, PA (WORD/WPIT/WPGP) has an opening for a Full- time Producer for a talk radio show. Related experience necessary. Knowledge of NexGen Digital automation software and Adobe Audition a plus. Full time position will be weekdays and could include some weekends. Candidates must possess strong communications skills, familiarity with social media posting, audio editing, the ability to multi-task and must be extremely reliable.

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

• Operation of sound console during live programming
• Screening and activating live calls
• Assisting hosts with preparing in-studio and remote guests for interviews
• Collection of audio and editing of sound clips and pre-recorded programs
• Obtain materials necessary for interviews, e.g. photos, bios, websites, etc.
• May be requested to assist with production/operation of other station(s) programs within scheduled hours of duty
• Assist program hosts with contacting and scheduling guests
• Assist Programming/Production with creating current show promos
• Assists Operations/Programming in improving/maintaining show quality and content through constructive feedback and suggestions
• May be responsible for direct or indirect updating of Host page on station website and social media channels
• May write and post content via social media during broadcast
• Update databases relating to guest contacts and production pieces
• Be fluid and flexible adjusting daily task list to the demands of a live radio program
• Other related duties as assigned by Operations Manager

• Ability to nurture strong relationships with ministries, newsmakers and community leaders
• Strong team player
• Excellent writing and communications skills
• Must have experience with Microsoft Office, Facebook and Twitter
• Ability to identify a good story and to tease out essential facts and issues
• Confident communicator
• Creative thinker
• Ability to put studio and other guests at ease
• Talk radio experience is not required
