The Student Ministry Coordinator is a team player that possesses strong organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills and has a heart for students and their families. The Coordinator enjoys directing and growing volunteers while
maintaining a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Coordinate weekly programming for students including middle school “Wired” and high school “Connect”
- Recruit, select, equip, and lead volunteers for specific roles within student ministry
- Supervise lead volunteers and their teams to provide weekly student programming at the Moss campus
- Schedule volunteers in Planning Center Online each week for all student programming
- Meet with volunteers regularly for care, appreciation, training and rapport-building
- Assimilate students and their families into the Good Shepherd community
- Communicate regularly with parents and families through email, social media and church publications
- Connect with students outside of student programming by attending their school events & meeting face-to-face
- Collaborate with the Good Shepherd Student & Family Pastor to coordinate events for students such as quarterly outreach/fun events, Winter Retreat & mission trips
- Serve as the main communicator occasionally at middle & high school programming
- Assist with family ministry initiatives as well as churchwide initiatives

- Spiritually mature relationship with Jesus Christ
- Affirms Good Shepherd’s core beliefs, mission, values and life practices by word and example
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with co-workers, students, parents, and volunteers
- Team player--who is positive, humble, and willing to learn
- Adhere to the Good Shepherd Staff Personnel Policy Guidelines
- Experience overseeing and directing volunteers
- Experience leading student programming in a medium/large contemporary style church
- BS or BA degree in related field
- Alligns with the Orange strategy and family ministry approach to student ministry
Technical Skills
- Comfortable with a PC or Mac
- Familiar with Microsoft Office products
- Experience with or aptitude to learn Planning Center Online
