Worship Pastor

First Baptist Church Indian Rocks
Largo, Florida, United States

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Description:

The Community:

The First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks is located in Pinellas County, Florida, which is the most densely populated county in the state (3,347 people per square mile). The area is incredibly diverse with a growing populace of young families, retirees, and just about everything in between. Just minutes from the beach, Indian Rocks is surrounded by natural beauty and is reflective of the relaxed, friendly beach culture of its community.

The Church:

Indian Rocks started in 1958 and since 2007 has been under the leadership of Senior Pastor Dr. Jeff Parish. Pastor Parish is an incredibly gifted teacher of the Word of God and the church reflects his commitment to the scripture. The church’s mission is to “Make Disciples” and it’s a belief that permeates every element of their organization. The church is a pillar in the community and hosts many large community-wide events throughout the year including the annual Jamboree (fall festival), a large production Christmas Musical, several large concerts each year partnered with the local Christian radio station and regular graduations/weddings. There is also a large Christian School (Indian Rocks Christian School) located on the campus.

The Position:

A core value of Indian Rocks is to see people “Connect with God” and we believe the primary place people do that on our campus is in our weekly Worship Services. The expectation of the Worship Pastor would be to oversee the musical elements of all our weekend Worship Services and to lead our people into authentic worship with the goal of seeing their relationship with God deepened. This position would also give leadership to our Worship Team and would invest time discipling them spiritually and developing them musically. Our worship environments are as diverse as the community we live in, so this position would need to be comfortable providing support and vision to different avenues of worship ranging from contemporary to traditional.
