Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church is searching for a Full-Time Senior Pastor with a passion to grow the church as Christians to become closer to Christ.
The qualifications for this position are listed below:
Master of Divinity (MDIV) Degree
From a recognized certified and well respected seminary
Ordained Minister
5-7 years previous experience as an Senior Pastor
Spiritual
The Senior Pastor directs the overall church’s ministry. This cannot be done without a close relationship with God. The Senior Pastor must spend an appropriate amount of time in private prayer; Bible study; readings of church fathers and contemporary writers; and meditation. The Senior Pastor should set aside private times daily, monthly and annually for the purpose of spiritual renewal

Provide leadership in the day to day running of the church

Provide overall vision for the church’s future
Give guidance to the staff

Possesses the ability to bring unity to the local body of believers
Church Music
Has a workable knowledge of Church music
Delegator
Ability to delegate work to others both on staff and within willing participants in the congregation. This allows the Senior Pastor to stay fresh in his job duties and committed to the church
Visitation
Ability to visit parishioners and meet their needs as required
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as spiritual guides including the Bible and other resource materials. Ability to write sermons, reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of members or ministries within the church
Confidentiality
Since this position deals with spiritual, emotional, financial and physical realities of church membership, confidentiality is of utmost importance. The person filling this position mush have a history of demonstrated work where confidentiality was a key factor in employment

Zion Evangelical Lutheran church is an independent, non-affiliated biblical and evangelical church with cultural Lutheran roots and a blended worship style. Zion is Christ centered and family oriented. Our faith has sustained us in unity for over 90 years! We are located at the base of the Bighorn mountains in north-central Wyoming in a community of approximately 5200 people. We are 2 hours from Yellowstone National park and 3 hours for Billings, MT or Casper, WY. Zion is a dynamic multi-generational congregation of approximately 500 members (average Sunday attendance is 250-300) with a passion for missions, service to all age groups, and a commitment to growing together as followers of Christ. Our mission is to glorify God in love, worship and obedience by proclaiming the Gospel, discipling and equipping believers, and taking His Word to the ends of the earth.
