ABOUT THE RISING
The Rising is a church designed to see people raised to life in Christ. We are a portable church of 150 people which launched 5 years ago, and we meet every Sunday in downtown Norfolk at The Norva, a concert venue voted best concert hall in Rolling Stone Magazine.
We are a real church for real people. Half of our church is between 20 and 35 years old and we stop at nothing, doing everything short of sin, to reach people.
The style of music we sing is in the vein of Elevation Worship, Lifepoint Worship, Hillsong, Bethel Music, Rend Collective, Etc. We also cover songs from Billboard’s Top Alternative list occasionally (We don't just play "church" music.)

BRIEF SYNOPSIS
Overall Direction and Description:
-Be an active, contributing member of the staff, committed to growth and excellence
-Create a memorable, engaging Worship Experience through music and creative elements every Sunday
-Contribute to building a worship culture within our church
-Build and lead a team of musicians to make up at least 2 high caliber bands-Develop relational opportunities for musicians and vocalists to collaborate and grow together
-Meet with musicians and vocalists to mentor them spiritually
-Estimated hours per week: at least 40
Qualifications and Skills
-Possess sound Christian character and theology.
-Adult well: Communicate in a timely manner, be organized, plan ahead, learner, etc.
-Humble, teachable, passionate, motivated by a mission
-Able to sing and play an instrument proficiently
-Should be familiar with Ableton, Planning Center, ProPresenter, in-ear monitors, backing tracks, etc.
It is preferred that candidate have prior experience in one of the following areas: Worship Pastor, Ministry, Worship Minister, Band Leader, Worship Team Leader, Worship Team Pastor, Contemporary Worship Leader, Contemporary Worship Pastor, Contemporary Worship Ministry, Contemporary Worship Minister
