Organization Description:  Friends of the Family (FOFM) is a faith-driven, 501(c)(3) Oregon nonprofit that has existed for 24 years to help build Healthy Relationships and Healthy Homes. We offer a variety of programs and services, including Professional Counseling and Relationship Education opportunities, and are located in Corvallis, OR, in the heart of the beautiful Willamette Valley.

 

General Position Description:  Provide leadership, oversight and vision for FOFM’s expanding counseling services, while maintaining a personal client load. Continue to develop FOFM’s reputation throughout the region as clinically-excellent, biblically-sound, and culturally-relevant. Actively serve on the Executive Leadership Team to help discern God’s leading for this growing ministry.

 

Work Hours:  1.0 FTE, Exempt; Primarily day-time hours with some evening and weekend work

 

1. (40-45%)  Program Administration & Ministry Development

  • Work with Executive Director (ED) to ensure the needs of the communities we serve are met through the continuous improvement of our services
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day work of the counseling staff across multiple sites
  • Recruit, hire and train counseling staff, in collaboration with the ED
  • Ensure FOFM clients receive high quality clinical care, in accordance with legal/ethical requirements, standards of professional excellence, and spiritual sensitivity
  • Meet regularly with the Executive Leadership Team regarding programmatic, administrative, and ministry development matters
  • Assist with financial management and planning related to the counseling program
  • Work with the ED to develop and maintain relationships with area counselors, graduate programs, church and community leaders, and ministry partners
  • Participate in continuing education for professional development and program improvement

2.     (50-55%)  Clinical Supervision, Training and Direct Service

  • Work with ED to cultivate an environment conducive to learning, growth and pursuit of both clinical excellence and spiritual maturity in our counselors and ministry staff
  • Provide clinical supervision to counseling staff and interns (pre and post graduate)
  • Develop and maintain a client load, averaging 10-15 billable client contact hours/week
  • Offer psycho-educational groups, workshops and presentations to community as needed
  • Ensure FOFM documentation and confidentiality practices are in full compliance with legal and ethical requirements
  • Oversee the establishment and maintenance of an effective and efficient insurance billing system

3.     (5%)  Other

  • Attend FOFM staff meetings, fundraising events, and other meetings/events as needed
  • Use of personal vehicle expected (mileage expenses reimbursed at the standard IRS rate)
  • Other duties as assigned

 Professional Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology
  • Professional licensure in Oregon (or eligible to transfer licensure from another state)
  • Direct clinical experience with couples, families, individuals and groups (seven or more years)
  • Clinical Supervision training and experience, with ability to attain “Approved” status through OBLPCT within 12 months
  • Previous clinical leadership experience, with demonstrated success in administration, staff training and management, and community engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate and balance a personal Christian faith with state-sanctioned professional counseling practices and services

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical leadership experience in a Christian counseling setting
  • Demonstrated expertise in marital therapy and family systems theory
  • Approved Clinical Supervisor through OBLPCT
  • Bi-lingual (i.e., fluent in Spanish), with experience in cross-cultural counseling
  • Experience with drug & alcohol treatment

  • Spiritually mature Christian and active member of a local church
  • Commitment to FOFM’s Statement of Faith (see fofm.org/statement-of-faith)
  • Passion for the cause of promoting mental, emotional, relational and spiritual health
  • Belief in the value and importance of prevention and early-intervention
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Envisions a long-term commitment to the position
  • Demonstrated ability to be a thought partner with the ED and work effectively as part of a team
  • Passion for helping build Healthy Relationships and Healthy Homes

Compensation: Salary between $62,000-$68,000 based on education, skills and experience
