Job Description:

TransACT Hope Inc, a faith-based non-profit organization located in Stevens Point WI, is seeking a part time Executive Director.  The Executive Director provides cohesion to the organization and mission by overseeing critical operations and utilizing resources to carry out assigned duties. In addition, the Executive Director leads the organization to develop new strategies as necessary and implement current strategies in an efficient and consistent manner to achieve desired outcomes of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. This position works closely within the organization, providing leadership, strategizing and carrying out duties as necessary and appropriate.

 

The Executive Director will oversee daily operations, develop donor relationships and fundraising opportunities, work closely with Whole Care teams and the Board of Directors, develop volunteer networks and training, and be involved in community outreach and education regarding the program.

At this time the position is a 20 hour per week position but may grow into a full-time position as the organization grows, with possible expansion into other areas.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership and Management

       Ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals

       Actively engage and energize TransAct Hope Inc volunteers, board members, event committees, partnering organizations, and funders         Develop, maintain, and support a strong board of directors; serve as ex-officio of       each committee, seek and build board involvement with strategic direction for both ongoing local operations and possible expansion of programming

         Ensure effective systems to track progress and regularly evaluate program components, so as to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other stakeholders

Fundraising, Resource Development, & Communications:

        Use social media to create a stronger brand and promote communication of the organization

         Work with website developer to maintain a fresh web presence

         Develop and prepare periodic newsletters providing organizational updates and plans

         Use external presence and relationships to grow the organization

         Work with the Board of Directors to expand program as budget, opportunity, need and resources dictate

         Seek opportunities to generate additional funding whenever possible, including grants, private donors and fund raising opportunities

         Update current donors on progress, success stories and prayer requests

        Sit on fund raising and event committees relevant to resource development

Training and Outreach

         Eeducating local communities on the presence and purpose of TransAct Hope with the goal of generating volunteers, expanding donor base and finding potential participants. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Facilitating Mission Minded Community Seminar development and presentations
  • Facilitating ongoing training opportunities on relevant topics

         Informational sessions with area groups, Bible studies, small groups, churches, etc

         Attend resource fairs as TransAct Hope rep, as appropriate and available. (Cuts for Kids, etc.)

         Outreach to local schools; serve as a resource to educators, social workers and family advocates

         Network and maintain positive relationships with other ministries and service organizations in the area

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:

         Attend monthly board meetings and provide an Executive Director update at each board meeting.

         Attend conferences and training sessions as relevant to growth within the position

         Other duties as assigned

         Sit on all organization committees

         Must be willing to do public speaking on behalf of TransAct Hope when necessary and relevant.

         Comply with all pertinent governmental laws, rules or regulations.

         Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the mission and vision of TransAct

AUTHORITY:

         The Executive Director has authority over the operations of TransAct Hope subject to guidelines established by the Board of Directors.  The Executive Director has the authority to make up to a $500.00 purchase without Board President consent, provided however in an emergency situation the Executive Director can make up to a $1,000.00 purchase without Board President consent.  Emergency situations include but are not limited to the heating system in a housing unit is not working or some other electrical or mechanical system needs immediate repair or replacement to avoid injury or illness to a member of the housing unit.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

         Occasionally, required to walk; use hands to operate, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with arms and hands

         Lifting or carrying materials weighing up to 40 pounds

         Frequent phone and text demands

         Frequently outside and exposed to differing levels of temperature, humidity, noise and vibration

         Work environment dealing with diverse population and sometimes hostile participants

         In-home visits may be in noisy, chaotic and unsanitary conditions
