Pastor of Student and Young Adult Ministries

Position: Gen+One Pastor
Responsibilities:
Organize services and activities for middle/high school students as well as young adults including; midweek services, discipleship, and special events.
Ideally roughly 65% of time invested in student ministry, 25% in young adult & 10% in all-church events.
Primary speaker for middle/high school services.
Responsible to develop youth ministry teams including, technical, adult leaders and small group leaders.
Work closely with Worship Pastor to develop youth worship team.
Equip and train adults to assist in leadership of supervised ministries.
Supervise & attend youth camps and retreats.
Oversee all mission trips including fundraising for those trips.
Work cooperatively with Children’s Pastor to develop a smooth transition from fifth grade to youth group.
Be pro-active in discovering the practical needs of youth in our community.
Develop campus ministries and invest relationally in students, to include time outside of scheduled church events.
Oversee all forms of communication (social media, email, text, phone-calls, etc) for student and young adult ministries
Oversee 17,000 square foot youth facility.
Develop relationships with parents of the students in order to support them as co-partners in their children’s lives.
Provide counsel and spiritual direction for youth, young adults and parents on an individual basis.
Ongoing pastoral care for students or parents in crisis.
Attend staff prayer times and all staff meetings.
Submitted to and connected with the heart and vision of Senior Pastor.
Willingly assume responsibility for the performance of other duties and projects, as assigned by the Senior and Executive Pastors.
Work in a creative team environment to help facilitate overall church growth.
Personal Qualifications:
Spirit-filled.
Ability to teach/preach/effectively communicate God's Word.
Proven experience in recruiting, developing, training and directing ministry teams.
High level of integrity with family and financial affairs.
If married must have a strong marriage with spouse and/or children supporting ministry position.
Excellent interpersonal skills with strong relationship building mindset and ability to work well with staff and volunteers alike.
Have a passion for reaching and developing youth and young adults.
Exhibit self-discipline, initiative and a strong work ethic.
Ability to lead and equip people for ministry.
Invest time on a continuing basis to develop one’s fullest potential.
High level of maturity/confidentiality required.
Ability to multi-task, being both organized and administratively gifted.
Adapt well to changing work situations.
Able to grasp and apply new ideas.
Able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions.
Able to connect with young adults on a social and spiritual level.
