JOB POSTING: Associate Pastor/Family Ministries
The North Manchester Congregational Christian Church is looking for a full-time Pastor of Family Ministries to join our team. As an advocate for the next generation, the Pastor of Family Ministry will partner with the Lead Pastor, Christian Education Ministry and others as an open door to the young (Children and Students) as they begin their faith journey. They will also provide guidance and encouragement to parents/caregivers as influencers in children’s lives.
The areas of responsibility will be oversight & development of programs and discipleship plans from cradle to college as well as guidance to parents/caregivers. The Pastor of Family Ministries will develop relational, engaging ministries to children and youth, ensure that the curriculum used at each level of spiritual development connects to the next and keep ministry leaders connected to the homes so parents/caregivers experience a clear partnership in the discipleship of their children.
Our approach is strengthening a student-based ministry, partnering with parents and caregivers and building intergenerational connections that reflect God’s work among His family enabling families to connect within our church and community in ways that encourage a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ.
Partnering with the Holy Spirit, Lead Pastor and church to develop vision, inspire new initiatives and reach out into the community to share the love of Jesus with all is also be a key role in this position.
Knowledge and Skills:
This Pastor should have a strong Christian faith nurtured by prayer, study and self-discipline and be in agreement with the 8 Core Principles of the North Manchester Congregational Christian Church ( http://www.brightlightccc.org/us/covenant/ ).
Strong planning and organizational skills. Management and leadership abilities with demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of youth educational medium, literature and teaching methods. Knowledge of social media platforms and ability to maintain accounts and website.
Must have the ability to relate to and effectively lead staff and volunteer workers and must be a team player with a pleasant and understanding attitude in dealing with partners of the staff and congregation. Individual talents and interests will also be welcomed as an asset to the team and other ministries.
Basic Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree or a combination of education and work experience preferred. Previous ministry exposure combined with three years’ experience is preferred.
