Job Description:

Since 1972, the non-profit organization Institute for Attachment and Child Development (IACD) has healed abused chlldren and kept adoptive families together. Open your home and heart while kids heal from early trauma with our clinical team, learn how to live in a family in a functional way, their adoptive parents get relief and training and the family gets therapy together. As part of the IACD team, you'll give abused children the much-deserved chance to grow up and thrive in their own strong, stable and healthy forever families.

Experience a different kind of foster parenting as an IACD house parent/treatment parent. Life as a treatment parent at the Institute for Attachment and Child Development includes-

Training

You'll get extensive and ongoing training directly related to your work with traumatized children. We meet as a team and provide education regularly.

Community

You’ll lean upon other treatment parents for a cry or a laugh. Or maybe some elbow grease around the house. Clinicians are always a phone call away for guidance. Local law enforcement get it. Educators will work alongside you. So you can do your job more effectively and without undue frustration. If you have kids battling trauma effects themselves, you'll get the added support of a team who understands and supports your family.

Professionalism

You’ll be an integral & essential part of the treatment team alongside our clinicians and the children’s adoptive parents.

A comfortable living

We provide a competitive and tax-free compensation ($95,160 per four children placed in your home) and fifty paid days off per year to treatment parents.

Happy good-byes

Our treatment parents give joyful hugs to the kids leaving their homes. Because it’s for good reason. They’ll be going back to their families – forever, thanks to you.

About Institute for Attachment & Child Development

The Institute For Attachment & Child Development, a Colorado 501(c)3 organization, is now in its 45th year of operation. Founded as the Youth Behavior Program by Foster Cline, father of the Love & Logic parenting model, IACD is one of the only organizations worldwide focused on treating children with reactive attachment disorder. Reactive attachment disorder, also known as RAD or attachment disorder, is a developmental disability affecting children who have experienced early trauma and neglect. The impact of RAD on families can be devastating. Over the last several decades advances have been made in the field of attachment, including recognition in the DSM 5. Still, there are few RAD trained practitioners in the psychological, psychiatric and family and social service fields. Today IACD has a small but dedicated staff made up of full-time staff, contract attachment & trauma therapists, a psychiatrist and therapeutic treatment families. IACD is headquartered in Littleton, Colorado.
