Senior Pastor

Holly Springs Baptist Church, established in 1914, has had a long-standing mission to minister to our small town, and our beautiful and well-maintained facilities, built in 2004, are ideally situated in the heart of a vibrant mountain community 65 miles west of Asheville. Known for having a warm, welcoming atmosphere, we are a unified and Biblically oriented blend of senior adults, young families, and youth. We also have many summer residents who are a vital part of our congregation.

We have a blended morning worship service that utilizes a mix of live musicians and recorded music and a comprehensive Wednesday night program that includes a prepared meal, strong and growing youth and children’s programs, adult Bible study, and choir practice.  With our continued emphasis on reaching young families, our flourishing men’s, women’s, youth, children, and Spanish ministries are dedicated to deepening the understanding of the Bible, strengthening faith, and fostering a supportive Christian community.  Following the Acts 1:8 example, HSBC is deeply committed to partnering with many local ministries and serving our community as the hands and feet of Jesus outside the church walls, as well as supporting state and international mission opportunities. In addition, we have a wide audience to our service broadcast on the local radio station and live stream on Facebook.

As a church who has only had 2 senior pastors in 33 years, our ideal candidate would be one who is a servant leader, who will continue to guide our congregation in spiritual growth, who believes in the inerrancy of the Scriptures, and who desires to fully integrate into our community and serve long-term with his family who wholeheartedly supports his ministry.

Pastoral Expectations:

• Prepare Biblical sermons that encourage spiritual growth of the congregation
• Minister to individuals and families in times of need
• Work with our Deacons to prayerfully make decisions for the church and serve our congregation
• Be a good communicator
• Be articulate and able to communicate God’s Word with power and personal application
• Collaborate with staff and church leaders to oversee the day-to-day operations of the church
• Participate in and contribute to Bible studies, Sunday school, and other educational programs
  
  

Qualifications:

• Be spiritually mature and have a minimum of 5 years senior pastor experience
• Have a degree from an accredited seminary
• Demonstrates ability to foster church growth
• Possesses excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities
