Minister to Kids and Families

Utah is known, among many things, as a place with lots of kids and young families. In our eight years as a church, one of the most significant avenues for outreach and evangelism has been with kids and families. Our vision for ministry with kids and families is that Flourishing Grace will be a place that not only serves kids well by creating engaging environments where they can begin a flourishing relationship with Jesus, but that we also equip parents as the primary disciples of their children.

We are seeking a Minister to Kids and Families who is passionately in love with Jesus and wholeheartedly committed to advancing His Kingdom for His glory. This individual will have a deep desire to see children come to know Christ and will possess the visionary leadership needed to reach kids and their families in a unique missional context. Working closely with our Minister to Students, this leader will craft and implement a comprehensive spiritual growth strategy for children from birth through high school.

Candidate Qualifications

• Is a follower of Jesus passionate about using his or her skills to help others experience a flourishing relationship with Jesus
• Is or is willing to become a Partner (member) of Flourishing Grace Church
• Has experience leading a flourishing children’s and family ministry at a local church and loves kids
• Is passionate about equipping families and parents to raise their kids to follow Jesus
• Has a history of successfully building and leading complex teams of volunteers
• Has experience being a healthy team member and enjoys collaborating on a team
• Enjoys developing others and being a leader of leaders

Role Responsibilities

• Plan and implement gospel-centered, Christ-centered curriculum for kids birth - 6th grade
• Create an environment on Sunday mornings where kids experience and learn about a flourishing relationship with Jesus
• Create ways to bridge Sunday morning into the home during the week to help parents interact with their kids about what they are learning on Sundays
• Develop and lead a team of volunteers and team leaders who are passionate about leading kids into a flourishing relationship with Jesus
• Create momentum-building events such as Bible Adventure Camp that inspires kids to follow Jesus and provides an opportunity for them to invite their friends to learn what it means to follow Jesus as well
• Pray for and lead others to pray for parents and families at Flourishing Grace and in our communities
• Meet with and encourage parents at Flourishing Grace as needed
• Develop and implement strategies and events to equip parents to disciple their children
• Connect events and curriculum with opportunities for parents to disciple their kids at home
• Participate with staff and leadership teams to create and implement gospel-centered outreach events where many of the attendees are not already a part of Flourishing Grace
• Plan “block party” type family events to connect with new parents and families in Davis County
